Year 1 Parents Information (22.11.20)

Please see attached put together for parents.  This gives you all that you need to know about accessing online work.   All work for Monday will be online for you by 9.30am at the latest tomorrow.   We will endeavour to add work for each day the evening before to allow parents time to have a look through perhaps when the children are in bed if they would like to.

In addition to this we will be sending home workbooks for phonics and Mathematics that parents can work through at their own pace if they prefer as a top up.   Where a child has siblings in school these materials will be sent home with them in their bags.   Parents with children in school who do not have a sibling at St Nicholas will be invited to come and collect from the school office from Tuesday 1pm onwards.

We will be inviting you by email to logon each day at 3pm for a Zoom storytime with Mrs Robb (both classes) and we hope to see lots of children enjoying this.   This email will outline a few safety parameters also.

Teachers will be contactable from Mon-Fri between the hours of 9am-11.30am and 12.30pm-3.30pm by email.   Children and parents can email work to the email addresses contained within the guide to share also.

Other infomation:

The self isolation period spans the recording of the Virtual Christmas Concert - we will do all that we can to try and film this when the children return and include it in the show.

Likewise children will miss the scheduled Flu Immunisations, Mrs Currall will be in contact with the team on Monday to discuss and we will let you know what they advise.

Pupils in receipt of Income Based Free School Meals will be provided with assistance to cover the costs of the missed school lunches for the two weeks.   I will be in contact with these families during the course of the day Monday to make arrangements.

We may make phone calls during the 2 week period just to check in, as was the case with the full school closure earlier in the year.  If we have heard a lot from you by email, we may not call you.  It may not be your child's teacher that calls, moreover another member of staff or even myself.    If you have any issues in between, of course you call us in school and we will be happy to help where we can.

Finally thank you for your calm and understanding of the situation, I appreciate the inconvenience that it will cause to many.
