Ex pupil Laila reading to raise money! (13.06.2021)

We like to think that when our children leave us in Year 4 they take the lessons learnt from us into their new schools and continue to have strong values.   Laila is a shining example of this.   Children at Codsall Middle have been tasked with fundraising for a guide dog for the blind. Laila, brother of Lewis in Year 1 has worked hard to create a video, sharing a story with the children of St Nicholas in order to raise money for the Codsall Middle. All she asks is that anyone who shares this video donates whatever they can to the Codsall Middle fundraising page and cites Laila Miller in the message section on the page.

Thank you in advance for your support and of course very well done Laila!

Staffordshire Covid Warning (07.06.2021)

Warning issued as Coronavirus cases rise in Staffordshire

Staffordshire County Council is issuing a warning to residents and businesses as Coronavirus figures rise in the county.

Covid-19 case rates have increased in Staffordshire – with latest figures showing they have more than doubled in the last week. This is partly due to a significant outbreak in Leek, but cases have increased in every district and borough. This is likely due to the ongoing emergence of the Delta variant of the virus, which spreads more easily

The seven-day rate for Staffordshire now sits at 25.7 cases per 100,000 population. This remains below the England and West Midlands averages, but health chiefs at the Council are warning that people need to be extra careful to prevent the spread of infection.

Staffordshire County Council’s Cabinet Support Member for Public Health and Integrated Care, Dr. Johnny McMahon, said:

“This recent rise in cases and the emergence of the Delta variant, which is thought to be 40% more transmissible, is a stark warning that we cannot afford to be complacent and let our guard down.

“Cases have been low for several weeks and the vaccine programme rollout has been successful across Staffordshire, so perhaps this along with more freedoms being enjoyed has allowed some complacency to start to creep in. We can’t allow that to happen and take a damaging backwards step, especially after all the hard work we have put in to get us to this stage.

“People need to remain focussed - follow the rules in place, get the jab when offered and get tested twice a week or when asked to do so.”

The latest local advice on coronavirus, testing and vaccinations can be found on our website.

School Photographs (07.06.2021)

As you know tomorrow is school photograph day.  The children will have their photograph taken in class groups and should come to school looking smart with full school uniform (whether that be Summer or Winter we don't mind).

We have noticed that some families have not completed the form to give consent for their child being included, please do that this morning before 12 for your child to be included in the photograph.

Some classes or year groups have PE or after school sports clubs on a Tuesday (e.g Multiskills Club), in these instances the children will need to wear school uniform and bring their sporty clothing and shoes in a named carrier bag to school.  Teachers will organise them to get changed then in school or at home time as a one off.  Thank you to the parent who brought this as a potential issue to my attention.

Sun Screen (06.06.2021)

Please ensure sunscreen is applied to children and that they come to school with named sun hats daily in the hotter weather.  We have had some glorious days during half term and want to keep the children safe as they inevitably play and learn outdoors during the remainder of the school year.  Also as a reminder children need named, filled, water bottles in school daily please.

Dear Nursery Parents

We are looking to provide additional spaces in afternoon Nursery for pupils after half term.   In previous years parents have seen the advantages of children building up to full days at school, where they can, in preparation for September in Reception.

These places can be funded through existing 30 hour childcare codes or paid for on ParentPay to suit parents.

Costs are as below:

£16 per day for the lunch hour and afternoon session. Children can bring a packed lunch to school or have a hot school dinner for an additional £2.30 payable on Parent Pay.

To book your child on please email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the following information:

Child’s name

How you will pay (if 30 hours code please share this)

Whether your child will bring a packed lunch or require a hot dinner

Which days you would like your child to attend

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.   Those who have already enquired and are on our waiting list will be offered a space as a priority.
