Parking Around School (26.03.2021)

Parents are reported to be parking on the pavements, obstructing the pavement for pedestrians and creating difficulties to social distance for those on foot.   Please exercise care and caution to ensure that we don’t have an accident.

Message for parents of Reception, 3G and 4A pupils. (26.03.2021)

As it is set to rain on and off all day, we will move our Reception Easter Bonnet Parade down on to the playground.   It will commence at 3pm promptly and we would ask those spectating to wait around the edge of the playground with maximum distance between you as possible.   Please leave any siblings at home that do not need to be with you and wear a face mask.   As we are moving location, parents can enter school for the parade at the normal school entrance points, as opposed to the rear of the hall.   Gates will open from 2.50pm.

Miss Pugh and Miss Griffiths will have children ready promptly for a 3pm start packed up with bags and coats on and of course with their Easter bonnets on. They will then come out and do 2 laps of the playground before being dismissed to you. Please do give them a clap and some words of encouragement as they go around.   Once the parade has finished please remain where you are and staff will dismiss your child to you.

I am conscious that Mr Gough and Miss Abbiss dismiss their classes at 3.15pm and parents will start arriving for them then.   If we can ask their parents not to come on to the playground where possible until that time and also where parents only have 1 Reception child if they can vacate the playground as quickly as possible after the parade to ensure that we don’t have too many families on site at the same time.

Thank you for working with us to try and keep opportunities available to the children in the safest way possible.

Miss Parker

Nursery have a new shelter! (25.03.2021)

To enable the children to be outdoors more in all weathers we are proud to say we have now got a new canopy/shelter for children to stay dry under or take shade.   This will help protect the children from the elements and of course keep our equipment from being as weather beaten!   The children enjoyed watching the canopy being erected and all of the equipment and machinery!

Parent/Carer Test and Trace Support Payments (22.03.2021)

Parents and carers of children who have been advised to self-isolate by their education setting or by NHS Test and Trace are now able to apply for a Test and Trace Support Payment or discretionary payment of £500, if they meet the eligibility criteria. The extension of the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme, which is administered by district and unitary local authorities in England, ensures that parents receive the financial support they need if they are unable to attend work due to childcare responsibilities.

Parents and carers should apply to their local authority to receive a payment. Applications for the Test and Trace Support Payment scheme are made via the local authority in which the parent or carer resides, not the local authority where the setting is situated, if these are different.

To be eligible applicants must meet all of the criteria that:

  • they are the parent or guardian of a child or young person in the same household and need to take time off work to care for them while they self-isolate. This is limited to one parent or guardian per household for the child or young person’s self-isolation period
  • they are employed or self-employed
  • they cannot work from home while undertaking caring responsibilities and will lose income as a result
  • they meet all the other means-tested eligibility criteria for a Test and Trace Support Payment or locally determined criteria for a discretionary payment

That their child or young person:

  • is aged 15 or under (or 25 or under with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHC)) and normally attends an education or childcare setting
  • has been told to self-isolate by NHS Test and Trace or by their education or childcare setting because they have been identified as a close contact of someone who has tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19)

Red Nose Day Total (22.03.2021)

Easter Bonnet Parade (22.03.2021)

We will allow 2 adults to attend the Easter Bonnet Parades (definitely no more than 2).  We would expect that families stand as a unit, 2 metres apart from one another on entry.   Parents muct be mindful to allow space between other parents when walking up to the field too and keep any younger siblings with them either in pushchairs etc or holding hands.   We will continually evaluate and update risk assessments at each event, so please do follow the rules to ensure other year groups are able to have theirs.

Comic Relief Joke Hunt! (18.03.2021)

Thank you to wraparound children and Mrs Lowe for setting up a joke hunt on the field for KS2 children to enjoy today.    Children had to find the joke and the punchline dotted around the field.   A lot of laughing and groaning ensued and a great opportunity for a run around too!

The Last Supper by 4A (19.03.2021)

PE in 2P tomorrow (18.03.2021)

As you know tomorrow is own clothes day in support of Comic Relief. We will aim to take children out for PE still.   Please ensure whatever your child wears to school is something that would be as comfortable as possible for PE.   We will be mindful of this when we deliver the activities so as to ensure children’s clothes aren’t ruined.
